New Zealand has reached the Champions Trophy final.
In the second semifinal on Wednesday, New Zealand defeated South Africa by 50 runs to secure a spot in the final.
New Zealand will face India in the final on Sunday.
India had earlier reached the final by defeating Australia by 5 wickets in the first semifinal. In the group stage, India had also beaten New Zealand.
Despite an impressive performance in the group stage, South Africa failed to progress beyond the semifinals.
Chasing a target of 363 runs, South Africa managed to score 312 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
David Miller played a brilliant century knock, remaining unbeaten on 100 runs off just 67 balls, hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes.
Rassie van der Dussen and captain Temba Bavuma scored half-centuries, making 69 and 56 runs, respectively. Aiden Markram contributed 31 runs, while Ryan Rickelton added 17.
For New Zealand, captain Mitchell Santner took 3 wickets, Matt Henry claimed 2, while Rachin Ravindra and Michael Bracewell picked up 1 wicket each.
Earlier, at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat, posting a total of 362 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs.
Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson both scored centuries for New Zealand.
Will Young was the first wicket to fall, getting out for 21 runs when New Zealand had only 48 runs on the board.
After that, Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson built a magnificent 164-run partnership for the second wicket, pushing New Zealand towards a big total.
Both batsmen scored centuries. Rachin played a brilliant knock of 108 runs off 101 balls, hitting 13 fours and 1 six. Williamson scored 102 runs off 94 balls, striking 10 fours and 2 sixes.
Daryl Mitchell fell just one run short of his half-century, getting out for 49. Glenn Phillips then played a quickfire unbeaten knock of 49 runs off 27 balls, smashing 6 fours and 1 six.
South Africa’s bowling attack struggled, with Lungi Ngidi taking 3 wickets and Kagiso Rabada picking up 2.
With this victory, New Zealand will now travel to Dubai for the final.
