India started their Champions Trophy campaign with a victory, thanks to Shubman Gill's unbeaten Century.
On Thursday in the UAE, India defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets to begin their journey in the Champions Trophy with a win.
Chasing a modest target of 229, India reached 231/4 in 46.3 overs. India lost 4 wickets while chasing, but Shubman Gill and KL Rahul steadied the innings when India was under pressure at 144/4. Rahul remained not out on 41 runs.
Gill, who faced 129 balls, hit 9 fours and 2 sixes. Indian captain Rohit Sharma contributed 41 runs from 36 balls with 7 fours, while Virat Kohli scored 22, Shreyas Iyer made 15, and Axar Patel added 8 runs.
Bangladesh's bowlers, Rosheed Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, and Mustafizur Rahman, claimed 2 and 1 wickets, respectively.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat first, managing to score 228 all out in 49.4 overs.
Bangladesh's star player was Towhid Hridoy, who scored a century. Ali contributed 68 runs, and opener Tanzid Hasan made 25.
India's Mohammed Shami took 5 wickets, Harshit Rana claimed 3, and Axar Patel took 2 wickets.
