Kohli's century leads India to their second consecutive win.

With Virat Kohli's century, India secured a victory over defending champions Pakistan in their second match of the Champions Trophy.

India secured their second consecutive victory in the Champions Trophy by defeating Pakistan by six wickets in Sunday's match. Chasing a modest target of 242 runs set by Pakistan, India reached the target in 42.3 overs, losing just four wickets.

Virat Kohli was the star of the match, remaining unbeaten with a brilliant century, scoring 100* runs off 111 balls, including seven fours. He completed his 51st ODI century in 111 deliveries.

Kohli built a crucial 114-run partnership for the third wicket with Shreyas Iyer, who contributed 56 runs off 67 balls, hitting five fours and one six.

Shubman Gill scored 46, while captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 20 runs. For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah picked up one wicket each. Since India refused to travel to Pakistan, all their matches are being played in the UAE.

Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Pakistan was bowled out for 241 runs in 49.4 overs.

Saud Shakeel was the top scorer for Pakistan, making 62 runs off 76 balls, including five fours. He shared a crucial 104-run partnership for the third wicket with captain Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 46 runs off 77 balls with three boundaries.

Khushdil Shah contributed 38 runs off 39 balls, while opener Babar Azam was dismissed for 23 runs. Imam-ul-Haq managed only 10 runs, while Naseem Shah scored 14. Shaheen Shah Afridi was dismissed for a duck, and Haris Rauf added eight runs.

Pakistan was in a strong position at 151 for 2 but suffered a dramatic collapse, losing their remaining eight wickets for just 90 runs. In the last five overs, they managed to add 33 runs while losing three wickets.

For India, Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets. Hardik Pandya picked up two, while Harshit Rana, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja claimed one wicket each.

With this victory, India remains unbeaten in two matches and sits at the top of Group ‘A’ with four points. Meanwhile, Pakistan is at the bottom of the group, having lost both of their games without earning a single point.

After suffering a heavy defeat against New Zealand in their first match, Pakistan is now on the brink of elimination following another loss.

Meanwhile, India, having defeated Bangladesh in their opening match, has strengthened its position with a second consecutive win, moving closer to the semifinals.

The Champions Trophy features the top eight teams from the ODI World Cup held in India two years ago. The participating teams are divided into two groups. Group ‘A’ consists of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group ‘B’ includes Australia, Afghanistan, England, and South Africa.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. The final is scheduled for March 9 (Falgun 25).
